We love to create bread that has a real rustic charm, and that really tastes as bread should: slightly tangy, full of holes and with a thick crunchy crust.

Years of travelling around eating in weird places has helped us develop a pretty wide range of breads. A few days in Madeira introduced me to their sublime bola de caco, which is the root of our very popular sweet potato bread. Our Pugliese uses durum wheat flour (when we can get some) and is made just as it is in Altamura. Yup, I have become a real breadhead!

Owner Claire Very, whose grand father trained as a baker in Blois France, has taken on the role of cake maker extraordinaire, and also produces a sublime pissaladiére and focaccia to sell alongside the bread.
